Product Details
Angelica archangelica, also known simply as Angelica, is a striking biennial herb famed for its aromatic stems, roots, and seeds. Native to northern Europe, it’s long been valued in both herbal medicine and gourmet cooking. The stems can be candied for sweets or used to flavour liqueurs like Chartreuse and gin, while the roots and seeds are prized for their earthy, musky aroma and digestive benefits. A bold, architectural plant that adds old-world charm to any garden.

Features:

Ideal Prune Height: 1.5–2m

pH Growing Conditions: 6.0–7.0

Shade or Full Sun: Prefers part shade to full sun

Minimum Pot Year 2: 30–50L

Time to Harvest: 1–2 years (harvest before flowering for best flavour)

Interesting Notes: Angelica thrives in cool, moist soils and produces towering flower umbels that attract pollinators. Once it flowers, the plant sets seed and dies, but self-seeds readily if allowed. A great choice for herb gardens or as a statement plant near ponds and shaded spots.

Grow your own Angelica and enjoy one of Europe’s oldest medicinal and culinary herbs—distinctive, fragrant, and full of character.
