Egyptian Guava trees are fast-growing and easy to look after. They produce pretty white, fluffy flowers followed by the large, distinctively shaped fruit. They are moderately drought-tolerant once they get established but love regular watering, especially when flowering and fruiting in spring and summer.
Pruning helps keep the tree bushy and increases the number of fruit.
Interesting Notes:
This variety is famous for its sweet, aromatic flavour and being low in seeds, which makes it a favourite for fresh eating. It's also absolutely packed with Vitamin C and other good stuff.
The bark is a lovely copper colour and peels off, which looks great in the garden.
A must-have for any backyard tropical fruit collector.
