Erdon Lee is a standout lychee variety from China, famous for its enormous fruit—often twice the size of standard types. The skin is bright red, thin, and easy to peel. Inside, you get juicy, sweet flesh with a very small seed, making it a premium eating variety. The tree itself grows upright and strong, and with proper care, it performs well in warm parts of Australia, including Perth’s coastal suburbs when protected from frost.

Erdon Lee prefers rich, free-draining soil with regular watering through summer and shelter from hot, dry winds. It benefits from a sheltered microclimate, companion planting, and consistent moisture during flowering and fruiting. Mulch well and feed lightly with organic fertiliser. Fruit set is better in a pot.
