Goldfinger Banana

Common Names: Goldfinger Banana, FHIA-01

Goldfinger bananas are a top pick for Perth gardens because they handle our cold winters and windy days better than most. The fruit is sweet with a hint of tart apple flavour and does not turn brown when cut. It is a tough plant that resists many diseases and keeps its green leaves looking good even when the weather gets a bit rough.

These bananas love a good feed of chicken manure and plenty of water during our hot summers. They grow fast and create a tropical look in a hurry. You will need to mulch them well to keep the roots cool.

Goldfinger was bred to be super hardy and tastes great both fresh or cooked. Because the fruit stays firm, it is perfect for fruit salads or lunchboxes. It is also more resistant to pests than the common Cavendish.
