Chompoo Longan is one of the finest longan varieties, prized for its large fruit, thin shell, and almost seedless flesh. The fruit is juicy, fragrant, and less musky than many other longans, with a floral sweetness that’s easy to fall in love with. It crops heavily when mature and is the top commercial variety in Thailand. The tree itself grows fast and upright, tolerating pruning well to keep it small. Grafted plants fruit faster and more reliably than seed-grown trees.

Chompoo needs warmth, regular feeding, and a good wet-dry cycle to flower well. Protect young plants from frost and dry wind. Best performance is in sandy loam with good drainage and high organic matter. Prune after harvest to shape and reduce legginess.
