Lemon Chempedak is a tree from South East Asia. It is a small jackfruit like tree with sweet and tangy yellow fruit. It grows well in Perth if you keep it warm in a greenhouse in winter and shaded from Perth's dry heat. Far better flavour than any jackfruit and low latex as well.
A chempejack is a mix of a jackfruit and a cempedak. It tastes sweet like bubblegum and is easy to peel. A rare mix of cempedak and jackfruit from Malaysia. This hybrid is called a cempejak or Chip Monk. It is slippery and feels like a juicy marshmallow.
The lemon chempejack is a rare version with a tangy lemon zing. It stays smaller than a normal jackfruit tree.

This tree grows fast and has big leaves. It loves heat under 38c but hates cold wind. Water it well in summer. It is a great tree for rare fruit fans.

Eat the fruit fresh or fried. Boil the seeds to eat them like nuts. It is a fun tree to grow.
