Wauchope Grafted Fingerlime

Wauchope is a top Aussie native that is semi-dwarf. This tree looks great and grows heaps of fruit that look like little cigars. Inside you get tiny juice pearls that pop in your mouth like citrus caviar. It is a hardy shrub that fits perfectly in any backyard or a big pot on the patio.

The Wauchope variety has dark purplish black skin with a cool red highlight. When you cut it open the pearls are mostly clear but sometimes have a pretty pink blush. It tastes sharp and fresh which is great for salads or drinks. The tree has small leaves and some thorns so it makes a good hedge to keep the neighbors out too.

Finger limes are famous for their citrus caviar pearls that do not go soggy on food. This variety is very productive and handles the heat well if you keep the water up in summer. It is a must have for anyone who loves cooking with native bush tucker.
