Arusha Soursop is a highly prized selection originally from Tanzania, famous for producing large, improved fruit. It features a distinctive creamy, pineapple-strawberry flavour profile with significantly lower fibre than common standard seedlings. While purely tropical in origin, it makes a brilliant container plant or protected courtyard specimen in Perth, letting rare fruit lovers capture authentic tropical flavours right at home. In fact quicker fruiting usually in pots!

Arusha Soursop forms an attractive, compact tree with glossy dark green foliage. It has moderate water needs and demands excellent drainage, disliking wet feet during cold periods. In Southern WA, keep it in a large container so it can be shifted into a warm, frost-free, north-facing spot or protected patio over winter.

Interesting Notes:

The pulp is exceptionally smooth and low-fibre, making it a top choice for blending into ice creams, sorbets, and tropical smoothies.

The fragrant leaves are also widely dried and steeped to brew a calming herbal tea with possible Anti-cancer properties.

Note: Seeds can produce offspring that are often similar to the parent plant, but natural variation means individual trees may show unique differences.
