Black Star Pitanga is a stunning black-fruited variety of Eugenia uniflora, known for its rich, sweet flavour and unique appearance. The fruits ripen to a dark purple-black and are much sweeter than common red varieties, making it a favourite among rare fruit collectors.
This variety grows as a compact shrub or small tree, making it perfect for pots or hedging. It produces fragrant white flowers followed by ribbed fruits that mature quickly. The fruit is enjoyed fresh or can be used to make jams, jellies, or sauces.
