Casabanana is a huge, fast-growing tropical vine from South America that loves the heat.

The fruit looks like a giant cucumber but tastes sweet and juicy like a mix of melon and peach when it gets ripe. It is perfect for backyard growers in Perth who have a strong fence and want a rare, super fragrant fruit.

The ripe fruit smells beautiful and people even put it in their linen cupboards to make clothes smell sweet. You can eat it fresh by the spoonful or cook the green ones like a veggie in stews.
