Grimal Jaboticaba mature

Also known as Peludo de Alagoas or Large Leaf Jaboticaba in Australia, *Plinia spirito-santensis* (or jabuticaba peluda de cruz, meaning hairy cross jaboticaba) was first identified by Mr. Grimal in the late 20th century. Since then, it has gained popularity and is now the second most commonly grown Jaboticaba in Australia. 

Grimal Jaboticaba is particularly suited to beginners due to its resilience. It can tolerate slightly less acidic soil compared to other varieties and has good drought tolerance, making it a great option for areas with occasional water shortages. The fruit is notable for its size and unique taste, often described as a mix between muscadine grape and purple mangosteen. While the flesh adheres to the seed, the flavour makes it well worth the effort.

This variety typically fruits within 6 years when grown in a pot, offering an accessible and rewarding experience for those new to Jaboticabas.
