White Cedar is a hardy deciduous tree that grows fast and provides great summer shade. It handles the Perth heat and poor soils with ease.
In spring, it covered in clusters of lilac flowers that smell amazing. It is a tough tree that looks beautiful in any large garden or rural block.

Native birds love the small yellow fruits that hang on the tree after the leaves fall. While the berries are a favorite food for many local birds, they are toxic to humans and pets if eaten. The tree is very drought tolerant once it is settled in the ground.
Medicinal Notes:
Related to Neem, and sometimes called fa look se neem. In traditional medicine, parts of the tree have been used to treat skin bugs like lice and scabies. Some cultures use the leaves and bark to help with fevers or as a natural insect repellent. The hard seeds are often used to make natural beads for jewellery.
White cedar is a great choice for a fast screen or a hardy shade tree.
